The challenge?  Lead, grow and be the key person for our aviation practice in the Texas market.

Due to continued business growth and success, our Texas territory is seeking a dynamic Aviation Project Manager/Leader with experience on a broad range of airport projects in the state. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for working with a group of aviation professionals in delivering planning, programming, architectural, engineering and construction solutions for exciting airport projects. You will work in a team environment, with multiple stakeholders and function as a Client Service Manager and Project Manager. You will participate in and manage the preparation and delivery of an Integrated Project Delivery program that will include passenger terminal, airside, and landside project components. The position also includes a significant contribution to business development, client service management, and building the aviation practice in Texas.
Our Project Managers:
  • Perform airfield civil engineering design tasks for projects from preliminary to final design; manage the bidding process; and provide services during construction
  • Develop engineering reports, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including geometric layout, pavement design, grading and drainage, and airfield lighting
  • Coordinate design and construction management activities and meetings between the client, staff, subcontractors, and CH2M
  • Lead and support health and safety plans
  • Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance Identify schedule and cost variances and develops and implement recommendations for corrective action
  • Help grow the Project Manager resources of the firm through the coaching of others and participating in the development and delivery of learning events Interact with CH2M project teams and client program level directors
  • Complete tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Bachelor degree in Civil or Aviation Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with significant airside and landside design and project management experience
  • Very experienced with FAA design criteria, funding and airport stakeholder requirements
  • Candidate should demonstrate strong client management and consultant team management skills
  • Candidate should demonstrate experience in working with multiple stakeholders to build consensus as well as cost efficient and on-time performance of programs
  • Texas Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain within 6 months

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Master's or advanced degree
  • Experience with Texas area airports
  • Active member of and leadership roles in committees and executive boards in organizations such as:
    • Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
    • American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
    • Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA)
    • Airport Consultants Council (ACC)
