Service / Service Operations / Vestas Americas

This Wind Energy professional will provide electrical engineering support for Wind Turbine Generators including turbine availability and performance. The Electrical Engineer will oversee, help to improve , and optimize wind turbine performance, power quality, and reliability. The Electrical Engineer will analyze wind turbine electrical operating conditions, develop repairs, perform root cause analysis of failures and identify remedies, generate work instructions, and collaborate with external customers, field services, quality, and commercial teams.

Responsibilities:

    Provide technical support to optimize operation of wind turbines in North America and globally Evaluate wind turbine performance data including use of statistical analysis methods Drive electrical and power systems improvements to increase electrical operation reliability, reduce failures, optimize availability and power generation, eliminate turbine faults, and implement improvements Create, review, update, and maintain electrical and power engineering documents and drawings Conduct inspections of wind turbines at sites for performance issues and provide improvement recommendations Write technical reports including inspection, maintenance, repair, and failure analysis results for internal and external audiences Support and collaborate with external customers, field services, quality, and commercial teams with technical issues related to turbine electrical systems. Uphold and adhere to safe practices

Qualifications

    B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university 2-5 years of experience as Electrical Engineer with preferred focus on generators and electrical power systems. Experience in the wind industry is a plus Strong technical understanding of electrical and power systems, root cause analysis, fault and failure analysis, performance and efficiency improvements Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assimilate large data sets and develop clear solutions to complex problems using sound judgment in decision making Excellent ability to communicate and present in English using both oral and written communication skills. Commitment to customer service focus, quality, and continuous improvement in processes and knowledge sharing Excellent organization and prioritization skills; achieving results through thoughtful planning and productive actions
