Occupational Health Specialist
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Occupational Health Specialist, based in Aberdeen.
Clinical and occupational health tasks of OHA medics.
OHA medic training, competencies checked, individual support as requested.
Medical standing orders including prescription only medicines and controlled drugs
Medical equipment and devices: procurement, service and calibration.
Medevac and medical transfer case management.
Medic training of offshore first aiders.
Medical and OH-related requests from OIM, safety reps, superintendents etc.
TAR support including contractor training ahead of mobilisation.
Onshore (UK, Europe & West Africa)
Day-to-day management of occupational health and hygiene operational and administrative activities; first point of contact for clinical medic queries; contact for medical advisor, topside doctors, and remote medicine.
Display screen equipment: referral for workstation assessment, identify ergonomic equipment, monitor adverse health impacts, oversee Cardinus (user checklist & CBT).
Equality: support those with disabilities & chronic health conditions; advise HR if requested.
Travel health: manage ex-patriate medicals, travel health consultations, oversee travel health clinics & appointments, provide pre and post-travel health resources, monitor & investigate travel-related incidents & ill health.
Health service appointments: medicals, consultations, attendance management reviews with health service provider; support HR & individuals with appointments, referrals, reports, implementing recommendations etc.
Incidents: contribute to investigations; enter data into Enablon, LEHS and LGRT.
HSE Team: contribute to risk radar, collaborate with all team members, attend weekly meetings, provide written position statements as requested.
HSE&A Department: align OH external and internal audits with assurance team schedule; record and implement audit actions.
Contract ownership: (Iqarus, DOCTORnow, MASTA, Cardinus, Wells Offshore): set standards and KPIs, review performance reports, meet account managers, manage NCR if required.
Work-related stress and mental health: currently only responding to individual requests for help; plan to support HR with policy development and implementation.
First aid: support first aiders and facilities team, review first aid kit resources and AEDs, post-incident debrief.
Health promotion: develop resources as appropriate, e.g. seasonal epidemics, smoking.
