Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician for an ad-hoc position.

Support the day-to-day running of the platform by safely performing electrical maintenance tasks on platform utility and production equipment

With respect to the maintenance group, this role is accountable for maintaining a positive safety culture ensuring that all tasks are carried out within the law and company policies & procedures

Primary Accountabilities:
  • Accountable for the execution of maintenance activities, ensuring permits, tools, materials, equipment, work site preparation, and all supporting documentation, are in place
  • Carrying out unplanned maintenance as required
  • Minimise downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets
  • Liaise with other departments/technicians as required ensuring effective/efficient delivery of the agreed plans
  • Installs, troubleshoots, maintains and services electrical distributing systems, motors, generators, rheostats, control panels, switchgear, voltage regulators, rectifiers, electronic equipment, transformers, meters and automation equipment and controls in liaison with other departments to ensure continuity of safe operations
  • Keeps an adequate supply of electrical supplies and spare parts and prepares requisitions for items as needed
  • Witness cable tests, test runs of vendor/specialist repaired equipment/plant and sign documentation to verify acceptance
Business & Industry Experience:
  • Experience Offshore Platform equipment or similar
  • Understanding of Platform safety procedures and culture - ability to work within these
Competencies:
  • Valid Offshore Certification
  • Must meet Wood minimum standards
  • Valid Compex
