Overview / Responsibilities
Wood are currently recruiting for a Principal Pipeline Engineer to work as staff in Reading, Berkshire UK. The candidate will be responsible for Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design of onshore oil and gas pipelines, Pipeline facilities and Field Developments

Responsibilities extend into providing services
  • Pipeline route selection
  • Pipeline basis of Design
  • Mechanical design, i.e. wall thickness, preliminary stress analysis, expansion analysis, and free-span analysis
  • Development of material take-offs
  • Development of material specifications and data sheets
  • Development of construction and inspection (NDT) specifications
  • Preparation of Pipeline EPC scopes of work
  • Input to EPC schedules and Cost Estimate

Skills / Qualifications
  • Engineering degree (minimum Bachelor). Chartered engineer status preferred
  • Experience as a Lead Engineer or Principal Engineer on major Pipeline Project
  • Experience with another international design firm (previous experience with Wood, AmecFW advantageous)
  • Preferred experience in an onshore pipeline environment within the Upstream and Midstream Industry
  • Requires previous experience on the mechanical and civil design of onshore pipeline projects and the project execution strategies associated with pipeline procurement and construction
  • Proven track record in FEED and detailed design experience.
  • Experienced in the use of pipeline design software ( AutoCAD, Microstation, CAESAR II) is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is required
  • Sound appreciation of material selection, process design and HSEQ aspects of oil and gas design and ability to develop material specifications
  • Experience in the development of material requisitions and construction scopes of work
  • Experience working with Middle East clients is an advantage
  • A fluent communicator
  • An individual with strong drive and vision
