ReedHycalog is a business group within the Wellbore Technologies segment, and with our eVolve offerings we are focusing on drilling automation & optimisation by use of downhole data. The ReedHycalog eVolve optimisation services relies on a four-phase optimisation approach to enhance drilling performance throughout a project's life cycle. The process begins with a critical review of key performance indicators and drilling data that helps us understand how to improve drilling system performance. After analysing the data to identify risk and opportunity, our experts build a strategy to deliver on the client's performance objectives. Due to increasing demand for our offerings we are recruiting for Drilling Optimisation Enginees to support operations in the North Sea and Continental Europe. You should be familiar with within running eTools and Automation Apps in the field for optimisation and automation purposes. You will engage in active drilling optimisation as well as document events as they occur at the rig site and communicate collected information to the project team. The position is an office-based in Aberdeen. Once the projects go live the Operations Engineers will be required to work offshore on rotational basis with their peers. In between of the projects and when not offshore they will be required to work in the office (planning, preparation, training, deliverables and etc.).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be familiar with the tools and job operational instructions before attending the rig site.
• Manage the running of the tools, telemetry system and/or applications as specified by the pre-job documentation including pre-run tool checks, picking up of tools into the drill string, initializes tool at appropriate time, monitors tool operational data, troubleshoots tool issues per standard operations process, lays down equipment post run, downloads tools and backloads equipment as required.
• Implements the agreed drilling instructions from the client and DDS job coordinator.
• Recognition of drilling dysfunction mitigating with the standard response if not covered by the job specific instructions. Identify when the standard response is not working and seek guidance from town.
• Document relevant drilling and non-drilling events in daily reports or within online/electronic data recording systems. Records any changes to the plan with reasons for change. Collects all relevant data required for the completion of the project ensuring QC of the data.
• Communicate all information and data from the rig site to the support team, clearly communicates the goals of the project to the client rig site personnel.
• Act as main point of contact for NOV while on site
• Transfers data per the processes put in place to ensure data security. .
• Perform analysis and logs to present to the client
• Mentor co-workers / clients in applicable areas
• Travel as and when required
• Any other duty as required by the business

• BEng in a Engineering discipline or equivalent

Experience:

• Working knowledge within a similar position.

Skills, training or special knowledge

• Computer literacy (including advanced command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

• Working knowledge of the drilling and well environments/processes

• Working knowledge of MWD/LWD or DD
