Quanta are seeking Senior candidates from an Electrical Engineering background who hold Chartership to work for a fast-growing Consultancy who offer a competitive package including salary and quarterly share dividends. Can you provide hands on engineering expertise and support the continued growth of our client’s portfolio by building strong relationships with clients and identifying opportunities for new business opportunities?

Working from home and client sites you will support lead identification, planning and design development of energy saving projects with focus on both electrical systems and sharing your expertise to support electrical aspects of process and mechanical projects.

With rapid growth based on a strong portfolio of clients and project pipeline in the South West and South Wales you will be based in this area or alternatively willing and able to commit to sometimes weekly travel to the region. When not on site you will be working from home – on average two to three days per week.

Our client delivers projects across a variety of sectors including Heavy Industry and obtain unique work scopes to deliver cost reduction, process improvement and sustainability/energy efficiency and alternative energy implementation related objectives.

Operating at a senior level you will be involved across all phases of a project but predominantly during feasibility, planning and development stages driving a project from feasibility to the commencement of execution as well as supporting other divisions as part of an integrated project team.

The successful candidate will develop the technical definition of projects of varied sizes & technologies for Industrial or Commercial/Public Sector clients, working directly with clients, contractors, suppliers, and Consultancy colleagues.

Key responsibilities:
  • Work closely with clients to ensure full understanding of their needs leading to alignment of project delivery within the client’s business strategy and KPIs
  • Work closely with the team to realise the goals and strategy formulated during the concept stage of Project Progression
  • Utilise your technical knowledge and experience to develop the definition of projects, providing outline designs, specifications, and drawings e.g. schematics and layouts including use of AutoCAD
  • Champion technical skill sharing and development from your own expertise within the wider Consultancy team
  • Electrical Equipment Selection and Writing of Specifications.
Project examples:
  • Projects are wide ranging in objectives but could include Electrical based energy efficiency project consultancy and management (variable frequency drives, power factor control, harmonic filtering)
  • Utility provisions to industrial and manufacturing sites both HV and LV supply
  • Implementing renewables/embedded generation into an industrial facility
You must possess:
  • Demonstrable experience of engineering project design development relating to industrial or buildings services electrical systems.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of engineering theory and practice, relating to both LV and HV systems.
  • Chartered Electrical Engineer and Member of IEE
  • Ambition and appetite to help grow the company and develop their own role within it. Understanding of how to work as a consultant, using influence and interpersonal skills, building long term client relationships with a basis in trust.
