First Solar's Energy Services unit seeks candidates who believe in our mission of providing cost-advantaged solar services through innovation, customer engagement, industry leadership and operational excellence. Members of the Energy Services team have a direct hand in offsetting carbon emissions from traditional energy sources by ensuring that our customers' power plants are available and performing at optimal levels. Every year, power plants managed by First Solar produced over 11 terawatt hours of clean, renewable energy. This is equivalent to powering 1.2 million homes and removing 1.7 million cars from the road.

Basic Job Functions:
Responsible for managing the various components of a site maintenance program as they relate to day-to-day and long term maintenance. The primary objective is to manage and administer the maintenance functions at the plant in accordance with O&M agreement requirements and the First Solar O&M programs. This overall objective will be achieved by meeting the following objectives: health and safety performance for assigned technicians and contractors, supervision of assigned technicians, environmental stewardship, employee training and development, quality control, work management system, maintenance of generation assets, evaluation of reliability improvements and technology, and process development and oversight.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Provides leadership and direction to all personnel providing maintenance support at the site, including contractors. May be required to take on the role of the Plant Manager when deemed necessary. Supervision of remote site personnel and maintenance activities as required by management.

A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in maintenance management within the utility energy industry, encompassing power plant maintenance and outage management.
Demonstrated understanding of power plant maintenance processes, use and understanding of CMMS software, EH&S compliance, and personnel, contractor, and vendor management.

Technical School Diploma or College degree preferred

• Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct the safe operation and maintenance activities at the site.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Manages maintenance and technical requirements for the site, assists in maintenance budget development, oversight, and adherence.
• Manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the PV industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Manages the use of the enterprise asset management system (Maximo) and assures the complete and accurate integration of the system, at the site.
• Monitors and manages the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, tools, and reordering as necessary.
• Interfaces with the NOC to review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensures completion of Technicians documents; outages, onsite equipment problems, log entries, site visitation; safety and environmental inspections.
• Communicates regularly with Management and all site personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure excellent two-way communication concerning operational and maintenance issues.
• Produce and speak to site reports and presentations of plant maintenance status, schedules, and goals.
• Assists in the hiring of site maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the site maintenance personnel.

• Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
• Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
• Ability to work in difficult customer situations
• Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements

• Proficient computer skills using MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook
• Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems. (Maximo)
• Development and validation of Procedures and Processes.

Physical Requirements:
• Will sit and stand periodically during the day.
• Required to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Will walk and climb stairs.
• Will reach over shoulder heights and below waist.
• Required to use hands to lift, handle, carry or feel.
• May be required to kneel, bend, talk and hear.
