Quanta are exclusively partnering with a niche Consultancy firm who specialise in process optimisation and sustainability across multiple industrial sectors to recruit a Project Development Engineer to support their thriving South Wales project portfolio.

You will be involved across all phases of the project but, primarily within the Design phase of projects, contributing to the planning, and design development of energy and environmental projects, whilst growing and developing through a challenging learning curve.

Working across various projects you will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies across heavy industry and commercial building services. You will lead ever complex packages and projects as your experience grows. At this time our client are seeking individuals with circa 3-5 years’ experience post-graduation and your working week will consist of site based and home-based working.

The successful candidate will contribute to the planning and development of projects of varied sizes & technologies for Industrial or Commercial/Public Sector clients, working directly with clients, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.

Your prime duties will be to:
  • Work closely with clients and Project Managers to ensure full understanding of their needs leading to alignment of project delivery within the client’s business strategy and KPIs.
  • Work closely with the team to realise the defined deliverables developed in earlier stages of the Project Journey.
  • Integrate into client teams, influencing to achieve positive outcomes for the project, whilst protecting the client from risk through a thorough understanding of their needs.
You need to have:
  • Engineering Degree with technical knowledge of fluid flow systems; functional design of heating/cooling or chemical systems / process systems,
  • Adaptability to new technologies, client sectors and engineering applications
  • Basic Technical drawing skills; P&ID, Schematics, Interpreting Layouts & Isometrics
  • Ability to work in a Consultancy and Client facing environment so should possess strong interpersonal skills, teamworking skills and an ability to undertake independent decisions and good commercial awareness
  • Hands on experience of working on industrial or construction sites with process control and safety knowledge and an ability to prepare heat/mass and energy balances
  • Knowledge of energy to waste preferable but not essential
  • Demonstrable experience of working within an engineering project management environment with knowledge of engineering and project management theory and practice
  • Due to the travel requirements across South Wales you must possess a full, clean, UK driving license.
