Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Electrical Technical Officer (ETO) located in Glasgow , Glasgow City / United Kingdom.

Overview:
Chevron Shipping Company transports crude oil, refined products, liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) for Chevron customers worldwide. Our fleet includes U.S. and International vessels. Our International fleet trades worldwide including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Black Sea, South America, Mexico and West Africa, the United States, Europe, Australia and Asia.
The ETO will perform duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
 
  • Meet the competency standards as listed in STCW Table A-III/6 and has the technical competency to consistently work without supervision after receiving instruction. 
  • Is able to progress tasks to the extent instructed by supervisor without calling for assistance.
  • Able to maintain 1000V (High Voltage) equipment has completed company approved and holds certified shore High Voltage Safety course.
  • Takes ownership for assigned electrical equipment and maintains in a timely manner. 
  • Able to understand preventive, breakdown and troubleshooting maintenance requirements for electrical installations.  
  • Maintenance and set up of Electronic Navigation and communication equipment.
  • Periodically review all scheduled, condition based and reactive electrical maintenance with VMT to identify opportunities for improvement and enhanced reliability or safety.
  • Participates in and leads daily, monthly and toolbox safety meetings.
  • Communicates effectively, with all on board in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude towards the job and the people on board, fosters good working relationships, teamwork and a productive safe working environment. 
  • Has knowledge of USCG and international regulations such as MARPOL, SOLAS and ISGOTT as well as Classification Society and flag state requirements.
  • Familiar with industry best practice procedures for enclosed space entry, hot work, Lockout / Tag out, pollution prevention, working aloft, safe lifting. 
  • Actively promotes and supports diversity.
