This position is responsible for engineering analysis, report writing, proposal writing, and working with other staff members to execute projects and client contact.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
• Geotechnical site investigations (including site reconnaissance, drilling, sampling, and geophysics);
• Geotechnical engineering analysis and design including (but not limited to) soil and rock engineering, deep and shallow foundations, slope stability, geohazards, HDD, pipe-soil interaction, soil dynamics, pavements, frost issues, earthworks, and site development;
• Direction/supervision of junior staff to meet project deliverables;
• Report and proposal writing;
• Tender package preparation;
• Site inspection/supervision;
• Construction QA/QC inspections; and
• Travel as required for various field programs

Basic Job Requirements:
• Master of Science in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering with 10 or more years of experience (postgraduate) is required.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience with exposure to large construction and pipeline projects and strong theoretical background in geotechnical engineering and field investigations.
• Experience with technical software such as LPile, Geostudio, Rocscience, and Itasca.
• Education and experience in permafrost engineering are preferred but not required.
• Knowledge in water resources, hydrology, environmental sciences, and GIS would be an asset.
• The ideal candidate must be mobile and willing to be in the field for periods of up to 6 weeks.
• All candidates must also be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta.
• Excellent organizational ability, report writing and verbal communication in English are essential.
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email, as well as, the intermediate use of spreadsheets. The use of Discipline Specific software will also be required.
