NOV Rig Technologies is currently recruiting for a Certified Weld Inspector to join our team at FM 529, the main responsibilities of this role include:


Perform a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations of a visual, dimensional, and

functional nature, making necessary critical observations, tests, or completing appropriate

documentation as required.


• Perform inspections on components.

• Perform source inspections at facilities.

• Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.

• Review inspection records received for compliance.

• Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.

• Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) for nonconforming parts.

• Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.


  • Review MTRs, Heat Treat/Stress, and other associated documentation for accuracy and to ensure it meets the applicable drawing and/or Material specification requirements
  • Maintain Material traceability of raw material to associated work order within the Quality Trace Database
  • Perform dimensional inspections to ensure Purchased material and work in process meets drawing specifications using calibrated instruments and gages.
  • Perform visual inspection (before, during, and after welding).
  • Monitor welding essential variables including procedures, equipment and personal.
  • Write WPS/PQRs as necessary to support the Fabrication/Manufacturing Process
  • Ensure all special processes (welding, Heat Treat, NDE) are performed in accordance with qualified, documented procedures and that these procedures are available to those performing those special processes.
  • Review NDE reports for accuracy and ensure drawing and/or material specifications are met
  • Perform Source inspections at Supplier Facilities as needed
  • Corrective actions - initiate, record, distribute, review, implement and verify in conjunction with the QA Manager all corrective actions



  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years welding inspection experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • AWS CWI Certification required, including experience with the development, reviewing welding procedures and welder qualifications for compliance with code and contract requirements.
  • Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, material specifications and requirements.•
  • Experience with mechanical measuring tools.
  • Basic math skills.
