Primary Job Functions:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development including experience selling in Vietnam
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience negotiating complex commercial terms on either the buy-side or sell-side of an international transaction
  • Experience working for a company involved in some aspect of the power generation industry in the Target Markets

  • Experience working in the renewable energy industry
  • Experience developing (or supporting the development of) a sales strategy
  • Experience analyzing the Vietnam electricity market including expected market reforms
  • Knowledge of regulatory discussions regarding 'corporate electricity offtake'
  • Knowledge of regional electricity markets
  • Relevant business experience outside of Vietnam (Thailand in particular)

  • An undergraduate degree is required. An engineering or related technical degree is preferred, though not required.

Primary Tasks
  • Attend external events and represent First Solar
  • Analyze the electricity or renewable energy market in the Target Markets. Provide timely and professional summaries of such analysis to management
  • Develop (or refine existing) business development strategies in the Target Markets
  • Identify and analyze potential customers to determine priorities
  • Originate new customers including through cold-calls, networking and referrals
  • Summarize customer interactions, requirements and intelligence in First Solar's CRM
  • Translate customer requirements internally and develop tailored commercial offers
  • Present highly professional commercial proposals to customers
  • Summarize transaction risk and make recommendations during internal review and approval meetings
  • Negotiate complex commercial terms such as deposits, delivery terms, schedule and technical specifications
  • Monitor and report on deal 'pipeline'
  • Support engagement with external stakeholders such as trade associations, government departments, regulators and other industry participants as required
