The Role:

As a Construction Manager for Plumbing and Fire Sprinkler Piping, you will be playing a critical role in building the world's largest factory. You will work primarily in the office supporting Plumbing and Fire Sprinkler self-perform work. You will be asked to work cross-functionally, interfacing with other trades, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering while tracking a project's schedule and budget.

  • Manage a team of field, office and craft personnel to perform fast paced, high quality, design-build plumbing and fire sprinkler installations while controlling and clearly communicating cost and schedule. A strong understanding of fire suppression systems is required.
  • Understand construction sequences, startup systems and review designs for constructability.
  • Troubleshoot, walk down, and resolve issues that arise in the field specifically in the plumbing and fire suppression field but also with interfacing trades.
  • Quickly respond to queries and resolve any technical barriers to completion by working with the in-house design and engineering teams.
  • Work with engineering and estimators to create labor, equipment and material budgets.
  • Develop, communicate, and improve upon plans for logistics and other project plans.
  • Interface with engineering team, construction team, contracts, and commissioning team.
  • Perform take-offs, develop submittals, order materials and track performance to support the plumbing and fire suppression installation activities.
  • Develop templates and standards for future phases/projects.
  • Enforce and maintain high quality standards for engineering drawings and for field installations by the trades.

  • Degree in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 12 years of experience on large commercial or industrial projects running fire sprinkler or plumbing scopes.
  • Understanding of estimating, plan reading, document control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and manage changes to:
    • Plumbing and Fire Sprinkler drawings/plans, one-line diagrams (Sanitary, DW, CA, N2, RO/DI).
    • Shop Drawings and Fabrication Drawings.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information.
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
  • Understanding and/or certificates in Plumbing and Fire Suppression trades.
  • Ability and desire to pursue getting a C-41 Nevada Contractor's License and Fire Marshal's Class "G" and "I" license within 3 months of employment. License is a plus, but not required.
  • Thorough understanding of IPC and NFPA Codes and interpretations.
