About this role

  • Ensure that the assigned projects tasks are well managed as per the statement of requirement, COMPANY specifications and contractual requirements;
  • Ensure that all the interfaces with the design team are correctly managed;
  • Ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with the organization's safety regulations, with quality conformance and within schedule;
  • Deliver a high quality engineering dossier for FEED and future detailed engineering phases;
  • Ensure efficient communication with all other COMPANY engineering and functional team members;
  • Provide thorough and efficient engineering documentation review, comments and follow-up;
  • Follow-up of internal technical reviews (Project reviews, etc.).

Job Dimensions
  • Project field development will involve several new projects that would be executed in parallel over the period of 5 years with CAPEX investment of around 3.5 Billion USD. The Major Projects consists of:
  • New wellhead platforms (WHP) installation: 7 new WHP each including bridges and tie-ins to existing platforms;
  • Pipelines global network: Existing pipeline(s) replacement for integrity and debottlenecking;
  • Produced water treatment project: Integrate a new module to increase produced water treatment facility;
  • WAG extension 1 : Install new pipelines to build gas network for extension of the WAG on H, E and C locations ;
  • Export Scheme Optimization: Potentially two converted moored FSOs replacing the existing storage facilities;
  • New K complex : 5 new platforms (2 process platforms (inlet separation and treatment), 1 compression platform , 1 living quarters and 1 flare platform)
  • The job holder is in charge of all technical design aspects related to instrumentation and control systems aspects of the ESO project in relation with the conversion of two tankers into two FSOs. The instrumentation ICSS engineer will be based in the Major Projects premises during the initial stages of the project (FEED executions) with potential missions to FEED contractors offices.
  • Candidate will move to selected engineering CTR premises during detailed studies development for the full duration of the project execution. The Job holder belongs to the engineering team and reports to the Engineering Manager Major Projects and to the FSO project engineering coordinator.

  • Promote & comply in all activities with applicable safety instructions and other COMPANY HSE procedures;
  • Carry out work in compliance with COMPANY values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed COMPANY priorities and objectives, COMPANY standards and procedures and good industry practices;
  • Follow-up of engineering development activities progress related to instrumentation ICSS systems for the Major Projects - Export Scheme Project by the contractors, the LLI and packages vendors (as applicable). The scope of activities will concern both FEEDs and detailed design contracts. The activities include the review and comment of engineering and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with design dossier, SOR, Company specifications, Corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes and classification society rules;
  • Check Review and approve the quality of the engineering documents prepared by the ESO Contractor(s) and his subcontractors & vendors, provide required comments in due time, approve via PRODOM the documentation promptly, in accordance with contract procedures and requirements;
  • Participate in the redaction of the scope of work related to instrumentation ICSS engineering activities to be sent with the project RFQ in view of project execution covering for FEED and EPC, all in line with Pre-FEED and Statement of Requirements;
  • Assistance in the finalization of contractual documents;
  • Supervision, control, review and co-ordination of instrumentation ICSS engineering development in compliance with project specifications and procedures, COMPANY specifications, discipline requirements and international codes, with respect of cost, schedule and required level of quality and safety applicable to this project, Define, follow up and evaluate the instrumentation ICSS discipline studies to be carried out by Contractors;
  • Supervise and promote cost-saving and weight saving solutions in the design;
  • Ensure a delivery of engineering dossier in due time to secure project execution schedule,
  • Check the incorporation of COMPANY comments by the Contractor(s) and his subcontractors / vendors in subsequent submissions;
  • Participate in inspections at site/vendor premises, as required;
  • Identification of any optimization / improvement in the design dossier to be implemented in the early stage of concept design;
  • Identify potential deviations from the COMPANY referential and report these to the Engineering Manager for final decision on whether or not to implement;
  • Ensure that design is standardized across the various FSO and is cost effective, in line with management strategy;
  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, constructability and operational matters during detailed design development;
  • Manage the technical interfaces with other disciplines for the preparation of instrumentation and control discipline scope of work;
  • Ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects are considered in the design performance;
  • Participate actively in technical decision making, in meetings with potential contractors and vendors;
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors, and in specific ad hoc meetings as required by management;
  • Provide technical answers to technical queries and provide support in deviations requests related to instrumentation ICSS issues;
  • Identify potential deviations from the COMPANY referential and report these to the Engineering Manager for final decision on whether or not to implement;
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors, and in specific ad hoc meetings as required by management;
  • To participate in the project reviews sessions with COMPANY, Contractors and vendors teams;
  • Provide technical answers and clarifications to internal project audit sessions (PR, HAZOP, etc...);
  • To contribute to the engineering interfaces;
  • To ensure detailed progress reporting to project management;
  • To assist project management team to reply to various correspondence by providing technical support;
  • Review qualification procedures and follow any qualification tests;
  • Ensure detailed progress reporting to project management;
  • To carry out any other duty or task that may be assigned by hierarchical superiors in line with discipline expertise;

About you

  • Qualification: Master degree in Instrumentation ICSS system engineering;
  • Experience: minimum 10 years' experience as Lead discipline engineer in Instrumentation and control engineering field in Oil and Gas industry activities;
  • Experience in offshore facilities or FSO, FPSO is a plus;
  • Strong knowledge of SIMOPS and brownfield projects;
  • Available for mission world-wide;
  • Familiar with Company general specifications is a plus;
  • Language: fluent English;
  • Computer literate;
  • Strong leader ship skills and good communication skills;
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
