Overview / Responsibilities
Wood's Environment & Infrastructure Solutions UK team provides a wide range of environmental and engineering services to both the municipal and industrial markets covering all aspects of water, wastewater and solid waste management and treatment.

As the demand for our expertise continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Process Engineer to join our team based in London. Working within multidisciplinary project design teams, you will contribute to the delivery of the process engineering design content on a range of challenging projects across our market sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Consultant Engineer Graduate, you will be responsible for a range of stimulating and challenging assignments including but not limited to:
  • Basis of design, capturing purpose, context and conceptual design for the project and individual units
  • Design studies, developing and selecting the best option.
  • Process Flow Schemes and heat and material balances
  • Utilities and chemical consumption
  • Equipment process data sheets, sizing and defining major equipment and safeguarding systems.
  • Process and Instrument diagrams showing details of all connections in the facility.
  • Operating philosophies, commissioning, operating and shutdown procedures
  • Participate in design reviews and HAZOP meetings, acting as HAZOP scribe

Based in our London office located in Canary Wharf, you will work on a portfolio of different projects and will apply your newly acquired skills in a range of environments.
You will report to a Senior Process Engineer and your role will develop as your knowledge of our business increases.

We are looking for enthusiastic graduates with a flexible approach and an ability to learn in a leading global consultancy. You will be highly numerate, have excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a collaborative environment and can apply your skills whilst working with a diverse range of clients and project.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies
  • Knowledge in the development of technical solutions from concept selection through design development
  • You will be expected to work effectively within multidisciplinary design teams and demonstrate effective leadership of process design
  • Some experience in Industry
An aptitude towards following will be advantageous:
  • Problem solving
  • Application of engineering principles
  • Design development
  • Computer aided design and modelling
  • Report writing

  • You will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in process/chemical or environmental engineering (MEng or BEng)
  • Graduate membership of an appropriate professional institution recommended
  • A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
