Project Scheduler (Temp to Hire)

Job Responsibilities
  • Develops, maintains, monitors and analysis engineering project schedules and resource work load
  • Monitors project schedules' analysis, including schedule health, start and finish dates, percent complete, remaining duration, and identify schedule risks
  • Works closely with the engineering department, project management, order management and manufacturing schedulers
  • Provides assistance and guidance to engineering department on scheduling matters
  • Supports all scheduling department functions that enhances the quality of overall company scheduling efforts
  • Leads re-occurring meetings with the engineering groups for schedule updates
  • Updates project remaining units, as needed
  • Oversees engineering departments' resource allocation and provides recommendations, as needed
  • Escalates schedule issues to the appropriate project team members
  • Generates reports utilizing Primavera P6 and Cognos
  • Effectively communicates best practices and relevant project scheduling information
  • Prepares and delivers oral and written presentations
  • Works directly with the Business Intelligence team to develop reports for engineering and dashboards



Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • 3+ years of scheduling experience with Primavera P6 software
  • PSP or PMI-SP certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred, or a combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability to work independently and work accurately with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Analytical, problem solving skills, and the capability to work well under deadlines and pressure
  • Commitment to delivering quality support to the project scheduling team and engineering
  • Experience working in a technical setting, preferably an engineering department
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-directed and motivated employee
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Flexible during times of change
  • Deadline oriented, self-directed and highly motivated
  • Experience with preparing and delivering oral and written presentations
  • Diplomatic, but assertive
