Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Mid to Senior Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager to join our team in Tampa, Florida. Candidate will be responsible for technical execution of water resources, stormwater management, and natural stream restoration projects as well the support of business development in relevant service lines for an established engineering and environmental consulting firm that seeks to expand its services in the regional market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on complex hydrologic, hydraulic, infrastructure and water resources designs and analyses
  • Oversee and conduct the collection, management, evaluation and interpretation of data from the natural and built environment
  • Design, develop, calibrate, apply and document hydrologic and hydraulic models to analyze watersheds, storm water systems, dams, bridges and culverts
  • Prepare technical reports that summarize analysis and recommendations
  • Coordinate and manage water resources and storm water management projects
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, environmental regulators and Wood offices on project related work
  • Work with our team to identify and develop hydrologic and hydraulic business opportunities including Watershed Management, Flood Control, Water Quality Improvement, and Natural Stream Restoration
  • Coordinate with project management teams and other discipline leads to manage project deliverables, ensuring schedule and budget are achieve
  • Assist in proposal preparation including innovative technical approaches and competitive pricing
  • Prepare and perform client presentations
  • Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work


Skills / Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources or related engineering degree
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida or the ability to obtain a PE within one year, 7 + years relevant engineering experience (10 + preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including budget, schedule and deliverable performance
  • Demonstrated experience working with municipalities, water management districts, and other water agencies
  • Degree coursework focus on Hydrology and Hydraulics, Fluvial Geomorphology, Watershed Management, Stream Restoration
  • Experience in Watershed Management Plans, Hydraulic Engineering, FEMA studies including LOMR / CLOMR; Natural Channel Design, Stormwater Management, Stream Stabilization, Bridge Scour, and Hydraulic Design (Levee / Dam Breach, 2D/3D Hydrodynamic Modeling, and Programming is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and technical writing experience is mandatory
  • Proficiency with ICPR4, ICPR3, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ARC-GIS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
