Job Description:

Position Overview


\n\n Participates in\nsemi-complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs\nand overhauls. Participates in training customers on semi-complex products and\nservices. Performs semi-complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and\nmaintains documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair\nwork, and failures. Participates in responding to semi-complex service or\nsystems calls. Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment\nperformance based on field support data and recommends modifications or\nimprovements.

\n\n Responsibilities
\n\n
  • Performs\n installation, troubleshooting and repairs on fire alarm and life safety\n systems.
  • Performs\n technical support program (TSP) tasks to include visual and functional\n testing on fire detection systems and field devices in accordance with all\n national and local standards.
  • Completes\n and submits written reports covering all aspects of each assignment.
  • Performs\n minor corrective actions and preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Refers\n major issues, opportunities or inoperative system to supervisor.
  • Responds\n to customer service calls (emergency and on-site).
  • Provides\n needed assistance with troubleshooting techniques and performs minor\n repairs as directed. Assists in installing new fire life safety systems\n and wiring techniques.
  • Performs\n minor repairs as directed.
  • Participates\n in job site final walk on assigned jobs and completes all job closeout documentation.
\n\n Required\nKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
\n\n
\n\n
  • A.S. degree in Electronics or related field, or\n equivalent experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage\n electronic systems.
  • NICET Certification II and Local and State license\n required within one year.
  • 3 years field experience inspecting fire alarm systems\n and/ or associated low voltage systems. Thorough knowledge of electronic\n theory and schematic interpretation.
  • Basic computer theory and factory training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of national standards and procedures/\n methods preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
