Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is recruiting for a GIS Analyst and GIS database administrator with a well developed understanding of Geographical Information Systems and data management based in Aberdeen. You should be an adaptable team player and have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. You will have strong technical and analytical skills with a solid experience using ESRI GIS products and Oracle Relational Database management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintaining GIS project databases and map services.
  • Understanding of and experience in populating and managing complex relational databases.
  • Management of GIS data in Oracle Spatial database using Oracle developer tools
  • Work with ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal framework.
  • Development of Oracle SQL query's and create custom python scripts to automate tasks
  • Participate in project meetings and workshops.
  • Driven, motivated and communicative team worker

Skills / Qualifications
A GIS or Geoscience graduate

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Over 3 years of experience in ESRI ArcGIS products. ESRI ArcGIS 3D Analyst experience is a requirement.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL developer or experience of populating and managing data stored in Oracle Spatial databases.
  • Technical experience with ESRI product suite including ArcGIS Server Technologies (ArcSDE) and ArcGIS Desktop.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal framework.
  • Knowledge of SQL query language and current scripting languages (python) to be able to automate tasks
  • Good working knowledge of coordinate systems, transformations and projections is essential.
  • Strong skills in processing digital elevation models and performing terrain analysis.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of PODS would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of (subsea) pipeline and oil production systems
Qualitative skills:

  • Good analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team to deliver on team goals.
  • Self-directed and require minimal supervision
