As Senior Corporate Compliance Representative, you will support and guide all segments of the business and compliance teams to ensure adherence to international trade standards resulting in zero customs or trade violations across UK and Europe. You will be part of a global Compliance team, each supporting key aspects of Customs and Trade Compliance. Additionally, as Senior Corporate Compliance Representative you will support, manage and communicate regional initiatives as directed by NOV's Corporate Compliance Team. Crucial to this role is the collaborative approach taken to ensure operational compliance within Customs and Trade is achieved and your ability to liaise with key and senior stakeholders within the business at both a corporate and local level. You will be keen to take on challenges, remain current on relevant customs laws and regulations, with respect to the products imported by NOV operations and NOV policies and procedures related to the import process.


• Work with business segment compliance on policy implementation, training and auditing. Coordinate with Corporate Compliance on non-routine enquiries from government bodies (customs or export control)
• Review and apply for import and export licenses
• Review and apply for all customs duties suspension authorisations
• Work with segment compliance to monitor and ensure most effective regimes are being utilized
• Work with compliance counterparts to suggest areas of change and amendments / new additions to policy
• Work with corporate finance to ensure deferment and customs comprehensive guarantees are reconciled and charged to segment on timely basis
• Ensure a consistent approach across the segments to customs and trade compliance administrative practices.
• Implement NOV policy and procedure at corporate level and communicate to key stakeholders across all segments
• Participate in and/or conduct training on NOV Trade Compliance procedures, in conjunction with Trade Compliance Attorneys
• Lead the response and work with business segment compliance in gathering information for HMRC and other governmental department enquiries
• Ensure segments maintain adequate records for all import and export activities
• Elevate significant customs, trade and policy issues to Senior Corporate Compliance stakeholders.
• Assist segment compliance with sanctions issues
• Arrange and oversee all audits of customs declarations, under supervision of Director of Customs Compliance
• Responsibility for timely reconciliation of internal files and MSS reports
• Regularly review regionals legislative changes which may impact business - making recommendations, policy changes and communicating to business on timely manner
• Liaise with HMRC and other government departments with a view to resolve any matters arising
• Advise business on most appropriate and cost-effective processes for individual product lines
• Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by manager
• Travel as and when required






Customs and Trade qualification


Comprehensive knowledge of sanctions, embargos, denied parties, dual use goodssubject to export licensing

Import licencing requirements, anti-dumping duties and countervailing measures.

Sound in customs valuation principles, thorough knowledge of duty suspension regimes across the region.

HS classification experience

Experience applying for UK and EU export licenses including licenses required pursuant to the UK/EU Russian sanctions.

Skills, training or special knowledge

Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook)

Proficient in other European language, both written and spoken business
