Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of HES Supervisor within our Worldwide Real Estate & Facilities Staff based in Houston, TX.

The HES Supervisor will serve as the HES lead for all commercial buildings that OXY owns or the facilities group manages. Examples of responsibilities are: an 18 building Campus; a hanger and terminal; office space in Houston, Midland, Tulsa and DC; and field offices in West Texas. The HES Supervisor will be responsible for the creation of safety plans, the adherence to the safety plans and all regulations regarding health, environmental and safety.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
  • High school diploma with 10-15 years of on the job training in an HES-related commercial construction position
  • College degree relevant HES major with 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction safety or facility operations safety position
Preferred :
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification
  • Contractor Management for all Real Estate & Facilities projects and sites. Contractors including, but are not limited to general maintenance, central plant operations, landscaping, security, janitorial, food services, locksmith, office furniture moves and fire and life safety systems.
  • Management for Real Estate & Facilities construction projects with the primary focus for all contractors on: Risk Management; Permit to Work Process; Management of Change; and Incident Investigation by the means of Latent Cause Analysis, Learning Teams and Human Performance.
  • Create, distribute and regulate adherence to safety policies, procedures and processes and compliance with all OSHA rules and requirements.
  • Provide guidance to the Real Estate & Facilities staff to ensure compliance with the HES department as well as to provide the HES department with the reasoning behind deviating from standard HES oil and gas guidelines for commercial buildings.
  • Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Management of the Safety Data Sheet Program; Construction Safety; Waste Management; State and Local reporting; and, Radiation Safety Officer.
