More about Ørsted

Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted employs over 6,300 people worldwide, including 1,000 in the UK. In 2017, we divested our upstream oil and gas business, completing our transformation to be fully dedicated to green energy.

Our UK operation is split into three hubs:

East Coast: Headquartered in the historic Grimsby Docks, our East Coast operations manage, maintain and develop wind farms including Gunfleet Sands, Race Bank and Hornsea – which, when completed, will be the biggest offshore wind farm in the world - overtaking our own Walney extension site.

West Coast: Headquartered in Barrow-in-Furness, our West Coast operations include the Walney and Western Sands wind farms in the Irish Sea, a bioenergy plant at Renescience in Northwich and a 20MW battery plant at Carnegie Road near Liverpool – our first venture into large-scale energy storage.

London: Our Westminster office houses teams of engineers, business developers, M&A specialists and commercial and corporate functions.
