Renewables in Africa to host webinar around Africa’s renewable jobs market
Media and market information platform Renewables in Africa will host a webinar on Wednesday 20th February at 1pm GMT to discuss the renewable jobs sector in Africa, says CEO and Founder Tony Tiyou.
The webinar will be focused around the Renewables findings from this year’s Global Energy Talent Index, a global workforce study produced by Airswift and Energy Jobline.
The talk will feature speeches from Managing Director at Energy Jobline, Hannah Peet, and Recruitment Director of the EMEA region at Airswift, Craig Slater.
Hannah Peet, a co-founder of the Global Energy Talent Index (GETI) movement, says: “This webinar is a perfect opportunity to find out more about renewable hiring opportunities in Africa, and should pave the way for professionals and hiring managers on what to do next.”
“Which disciplines are experiencing significant skills shortages? How will this impact the industry in 2019? Where are the jobs? These are the kinds of topics we will provide insights around on 20th February.”
Key statistics around the GETI report include:
- Africa has one of the best representations of female talent at 17%.
- Political landscape is cited by workers as the biggest challenge facing Africa’s renewable sector.
- Almost 25% of Africa’s renewable energy professionals claim to be unemployed.
- Better training is widely agreed as what companies should be doing to attract more talent.
