NES Global Talent: Celebrating 10 years of outstanding delivery in Australasia
NES Global Talent is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Australasia!
After a decade of delivering outstanding staffing solutions to the region, NES Global Talent (NES) has firmly cemented its place as a trusted and leading provider of recruitment, mobility, and project delivery services to some of Australasia’s largest and most respected organisations.
From its first office in Perth servicing the Oil & Gas industry NES has gone on to grow the team to in excess of 50 staff; open up 5 more offices across Australasia and has diversified it’s offering in to other core sectors such as Mining, Infrastructure & Construction, Power and Life Sciences along the way.
Taking the market temperature
When NES first arrived in the region there was a mining boom which continued into the gas projects in Western Australia, the Northern Territories, and Queensland. The region continues to provide fantastic opportunities for skilled workers with the recent identification and development of infrastructure projects required to underpin Australia’s population growth.
Whilst there have been peaks and troughs across the decade NES are now in a unique position where all markets are busy with an added industry of Defence forecast to spend in excess of $50Bn through 2030.
At the end of 2017 NES was one of the first businesses to call the bottom of the oil and gas jobs market as its major survey of more than 3,000 employers showed that more than half of them expected to recruit significantly in 2018. These predictions proved to be true with NES recruiting 50% more roles this year through its Australia offices than in the 12 months previously and for the first time in 5 years they are seeing a wage growth in the Australian market.
What are employers looking for in 2018?
Clients are embracing the rapid technological changes meaning workers with digital skills are in great demand as employers recognise the opportunities and efficiencies these solutions can deliver. Building a diverse workforce is also a hot topic. Employers are keen to not only be diverse in the candidate selection process but also take an inclusive approach throughout the organisation to ensure the workforce they recruit is productive and stable in the long term. NES are taking a lead in this area and are working closely with the Australian ‘Women in Oil and Gas Foundation’ to promote mentoring and leadership opportunities for women in the oil and gas industry.
Matt Underhill the Managing Director for APAC comments:
“NES has never been more positive about the opportunities for the industrial workforce in Australasia. The region is forecasting a 20% growth in revenue in 2018 versus 2017, with all market indicators looking positive for the next 5 years. Our success in Australasia has in no small part been due to the high calibre of people who have joined the team over the decade. The lifeblood of our operation is great people, and I would like to thank all the staff and clients who have helped us to successfully reach this milestone. I look forward to continuing to work with the team, supporting our clients across the region for many years to come”
