Published: 23 Jun 2016
Nestlé has formed a 15 year partnership with community wind power. This deal will see the development of a new wind farm consisting of 9 wind turbines open in both Dumfries and Galloway early next year.
The new wind farm will have the capability to produce 125GWh of power annually which could supply the annual energy demands of 30000 households.
Nestlé has targets to reduce its UK carbon footprint by 40% by 2020 with the aim to achieve 100% renewable electrical energy globally through the RE100 scheme which supports companies committed to using 100% renewable energy.
On the day of the announcement Nestlé released a report detailing the key achievements the firm has made towards to renewable energy goals in being a more responsible and sustainable business.
