Energy Jobline interviews with energy Executive Search firm: Alltek Global
Energy Jobline interviews with Susana Baptista, Senior Associate at Alltek Global, a worldwide leader in senior executive search solutions within energy and reveals some of the 15-year-strong company's plans for 2018.
Can you tell me more about the markets Alltek Global covers and why this is the strategic direction Alltek Global has undertaken?
We positioned Alltek Global 15 years ago in the Executive Search and Senior Appointment level of the Power, Energy and Oil & Gas markets, as our Directors have particular strengths in these fields going back to 1986. With the reduction in fossil fuel usage and the drive towards cleaner energy, we have been very successful in the new nuclear, renewable and gas technology sectors, supplying our services across the globe through our niche-market consultants.
Can you tell me more about the locations Alltek Global covers?
Currently, we are working across Europe, Africa, South America and the Middle East as these regions have strong energy markets, paired with a need for internationally-proven leaders who understand the geographies, languages and processes required.
What do you think differentiates Alltek Global from other agencies in the sector?
We differentiate Alltek Global from other recruitment companies as most of our consultants come from the industry or have run large businesses. We, therefore, not only understand how important the correct person is in a new position/division, geography. We also empathise and support with all the situations that our clients have to deal with and overcome.
What recruitment trends do you expect to see occurring with the energy industry in 2018?
The renewable industry continues to expand at a phenomenal rate internationally, generating more opportunities for leaders worldwide. Also, in the UK for example we are seeing a massive shortage of skilled professional leaders to design, construct and maintain the technical infrastructure portions of Power and Energy projects. Massive nuclear, rail, water and highway projects are mobilising in Q1 and Q2 of 2018, having major challenges for leaders to fill the skill gaps. At Alltek Global, we are ahead of the curve in working our networks and relationships to identify expats and foreign nationals who can bring knowledge, experience and skills to bear.
What do you predict/want to be your biggest growth area in 2018?
2018 has started pretty much as 2017 finished. We have huge opportunities through the large utility companies on renewables and networks. EPC’s are preparing for an influx of projects. As the oil price rises and stabilizes it will create new opportunities, and nuclear has new projects, problem projects and decommissioning opportunities with the added challenge of specific language requirements. Currently we are receiving a large amount of workload coming from renewables.
How can you see EJL help with your candidate attraction?
We decided to partner with EJL as our research proved you focus on our target audience. We look forward to running campaigns for senior appointments through the various routes you use to identify passive and active candidates.
