Chevron Partners With Microsoft to digitally transform their business

Chevron has just announced a new collaboration with Microsoft to establish the company as Chevron’s primary cloud provider. The overall objective is to enhance the integration of advanced technologies including Internet of Things (IoT) and Analytics to improve overall performance and efficiency of the business.
The Executive Vice President of Technology of Chevron highlights that Chevron is committed to improving the overall workflow and utilizing technology to make their business operations more efficient and cost competitive. Chevron intends to maximise their involvement in digital technology and introduce the development of new devices to maximise revenues, lower operational costs and improve the overall safety, efficiency and reliability of their business operations.
The new partnership with Microsoft is a part of the larger Digitization initiative at Chevron which intends to streamline IT operations around a digital format, utilizing tools such as analytics and IoT.
Utilising the Azure Platform from Microsoft will enable the IT team at Chevron to develop by supporting infrastructure that allows the integrations of more advanced technologies and at the same time optimise exploration, management, and production operations.
The Chief Information Officer at Chevron suggested that this strategic partnership will give Chevron a massive advantage over its competitors. By utilizing advanced technologies, Chevron can become more agile and efficient.
Utilising real-time data across the whole industry process is continuing to grow, the partnership with Microsoft will enable further development and utilization of this data to continue developing and evolving.
The strategic partnership between Microsoft and Chevron will enable both companies to focus on joint innovations from both a technology and business perspective. This includes exploring possible areas that will influence Microsoft’s decisions on future products and where Microsoft can contribute towards solving the business challenges at Chevron.
The Vice President of Microsoft Azure believes this partnership is a collaboration of intelligent energy with intelligent cloud. The cloud system at Microsoft provides an infrastructure that will allow Chevron to utilize their capabilities across the Internet of Things and modern performance IT technology.
