Role description Due to the growth of the Test team we are seeking to recruit a Device Test Lead to join us from our site in Leeds on a permanent basis. The purpose of the Device Assurance Specialists (Test Analyst) is to deliver Smart Metering device quality assurance through the testing approaches, processes, tools and plans as defined by the programme Head of Test and Senior Device Assurance Specialist/Test Lead (flagging opportunities for improvement/areas of risk where relevant) throughout the life-cycle of the Smart Programme Release(s).

The Device Test Lead will be responsible for:

Test phase preparatory activities including;

Test approach documentation

Knowledge transition / acquisition across the team

Day to day management and co-ordination of activities to ensure test readiness and the reporting thereof

Test execution schedule

Support and ensure analysis and design of test scenarios and cases/scripts to defined programme standards across the team

Support and ensure test data/device set up and alignment

Test phase execution:

Day to day management and co-ordination of activities to support resources and ensure test script execution to defined programme standards

Test evidence collation and documentation to defined programme standards

Ensure full and accurate logging of test defects across the team

Entry and Exit Reporting

Daily execution and defect reporting (in conjunction with the Defect Manager)

Skills and experience Demonstrable hands-on testing experience within a range of functional testing including UAT, acceptance and system testing preferably with a device focus

Strong understanding of the approaches and tool-sets needed to facilitate testing of complex solutions end-to-end.

High degree of understanding structured test methods and processes

Demonstrable ability to investigate complex issues and make informed decisions about them when written guidelines are not necessarily available

Ability to identify functional and non-functional requirements

A formal testing qualification is desirable i.e ISTQB, or equivalent experience

Demonstrable Team Leader experience in a Testing environment

Strong understanding of HP Quality Centre

Knowledge of Smart Metering device sets or similar mobile device Testing would be desirable

Experience with reading Zigbee files would be of use

Strong background of stakeholder management to a Senior level
