We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities.

As a programmer / web developer you would provide programming support in the development of online systems to improve the efficiency of managerial tasks and the organization of data within a test laboratory environment. You would be responsible for delivering and supporting information technology services by developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based application systems. Application uptime is maximized through continuous monitoring of potential failure modes and feedback from end users. Participation with colleagues to troubleshoot reported web-based application problems and issues is required. Tasked with looking for ways to improve existing applications (i.e. decreasing application load/computing times, integrate new functionality, etc.) and develop new applications that perform tasks which previously were performed manually. They apply knowledge in a variety of client and server side programming languages (i.e. JavaScript, SQL, PHP, etc.) to produce efficient web interfaces for a variety of users - technicians, engineers, and managers. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and versatility is required.

The online systems are constantly being evolved to improve computing times and increase user-friendly aspects by incorporate newly released features. Most of these features are used via jQuery plug-ins and custom user interfaces aimed at optimizing monitor screen space and displaying only the information the user needs to see to accomplish their specific objective.
  • Two (2) years of college with courses in a related discipline or a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience for a total of two (2) years.
  • Languages/Applications - HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, ColdFusion - some experience in both server side (ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, etc.) and client side (JavaScript, AJAX) coding needed
  • General coding background (2+ years desired)
  • Database experience - SQL, table creation & modification (2+ years desired)
  • MS Office Applications
  • Adobe Dreamweaver/ColdFusion Builder
  • Visual Basic/VBA macro development experience a plus
  • Mobile device application experience a plus
  • The ability to work and handle complex assignments with a high degree of independence is a must

Regular attendance and punctuality critical

Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, audiogram and background check.

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
