I am recruiting for a Project Accountant to be based in Rotterdam, Netherlands on a staff basis for my client an international chemical manufacturer specialising in flavours and fragrances.
The Project Accountant is responsible for efficiently and effectively and achieve a balanced administration of the project in cooperation with the departments concerned. It is essential that the Project Accountant can explain the entire administration in detail during budget reviews.
The feature is cross-department and works closely with the departments of Maintenance and Projects & Technology. We're looking for someone who has no problems with executive work, but also has the potential to grow and to think.
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 5 years experience in 'project cost accounting, preferably in a technical and / or production environment.
Directed by applying self-starter.
Strong skills wbt computer and information technology, especially Microsoft applications; Excel is a must, Access a plus and experience with other systems a necessity. Knowledge of JDEdwards is a bonus.
Very important: a strong drive to the "why" to figure out the numbers behind the process / project (analysis and advice).
Tasks and responsibilities:
Maintain and keep up to date on the 'maintenance reports' in Excel. Tuning of the financial system and maintenance support system (Webwork). Coordinate and process the maintenance bills.Incoming goods / timesheets. Checking authorizations. Liaising with suppliers. Cost control of the maintenance department: Monthly discuss the accrual accounts (transactions) with the Maintenance Mgr. Maintenance project administration. Analysis and reporting of the maintenance costs. Assisting in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting in conjunction with the maintenance department and manufacturing managers. Administration of 'major capital projects. "Continuous improvement of P2P process maintenance. Assisting with 'cost control turnaround. Keeping and creating KPIs with relevant information from various parties. Ad hoc analysis of projects at the request of the Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager or Financial Controller.
