Role synopsis
The CE Manager is accountable for delivering the well completion engineering activities in the Region, consistent with the New Well Common Process, Well Activity Workflow, Major Projects Common Process and associated decision rights.­ Teamwork within Wells and with Subsurface and Global Operations are important interfaces to deliver the annual plan. The Manager serves as the Completions Engineering discipline leader for well activities in the Region.
­
The leadership of the CEM impacts priorities, risk management, safety culture, and business decisions for the larger Completions Team. The Manager is accountable for compliance with applicable local regulations and conformance with BP Practices & Procedure thereby managing exposure to Major Accident Risks.­

Key accountabilities
  • Delivery of engineering scope to meet design requirements, schedule and effective well handover to Global Operations per New Well Common Process.
  • Facilitate and perform decision rights (RAPID) process in Select, Define and Execute stages per New Well Common Process.
  • Verify that risks are identified and mitigation plans progressed.
  • Review and approve cost estimates for the well AFE.­
  • Manage completions contractors performance in partnership with PSCM and drives efficiency in inventory management
  • Perform SPL and/or CAM role for assigned contracts
  • Facilitate interfaces with other disciplines, service providers, customers and stakeholders, both internal and external.­
  • Manage Continuous Improvement performance in well operations.
  • Lead people development of engineering staff to deliver appropriate staffing, competency, and development.­ Support nationalisation in Regions.
  • Verify that Regional & Global learnings are incorporated into the Basis of Designs (BoDs).
  • Serve as lead and resource for Completions discipline within Region including coaching, development and advising on deployment.
  • Develop strategy and implement Completions technology plan for the Region in accordance with Wells Engineering and Wells Technology framework.
  • Support GWO Engineering agenda, Discipline Leadership Team and Communities of Practice, asks for help, and shares best practices, member of regional leadership team, input to region strategy and decisions


Essential Education
­Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree; or acceptable science discipline.

Essential experience and job requirements
  • Circa 10+ years' experience with wells delivery
    ­
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and track record for safe and competitive delivery
    ­
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and Contractors
    ­
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with multiple teams & interfaces
    ­
  • Skilled in New Well Common Process; Ensures completion activities integrate with and support all other functions and their requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in base management and interventions & integrity activities
  • Azerbaijan citizenship is required.
