JOB SUMMARY
The drilling fluids senior engineer is responsible for all aspects of the Company's DF day to day operational services at the well site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Proactive involvement in HSE activities including involvement in risk assessments, JSA and safety presentations / toolbox talks at the well site.
  2. Ensure that all personnel are wearing PPE at all times and when mixing chemicals that correct PPE as per the MSDS is being used.
  3. Communicate on a daily basis, or as required, with the Company's Representative.
  4. Communicate with Operators representative and drilling rig personnel on a constant basis to be fully aware of drilling conditions and to advise the parties of Drilling fluids condition and performance.
  5. The DF Engineer is responsible to work with all parties at the well site to assist in optimizing the drilling process, whether the service provided is part of a Weatherford Integrated Project of the supply of a single service.
  6. DFE  supervise the operations, maintenance of all the drilling fluids  at the well site
  7. Ensure that Drilling fluids are correctly set and meet requirements at all times.
  8. Perform regular API tests on the Drilling fluids and make the necessary adjustments as required to maintain the operating parameters within specifications.
  9. Recommend changes on fluids parameters as conditions dictate, to provide solutions to unscheduled events.
  10. Optimize fluids performance to minimize any impact. Make recommendations as required fluids selection and ensure adequate products and chemicals are ordered.
  11. Verify, Plan, order and maintain chemical inventory for fluids at the well site in conjunction with DF&DWM Operations Manager.
  12. Advise rig crews about safety operating procedures of equipment.
  13. Be able to perform a full rig audit for equipment installation and lay out.
  14. Computer literate and able to use the company's reporting system.
  15. Accurately prepare and distribute all daily reports. Ensure that all relevant data and comments are included on DF&DWM report.
  16. Complete, accurately all section and end of well reports and submit to the office in a timely manner.
  17. Ensure that Lessons learned are identified and recorded in end of well reports and communicated to other rig personnel.
  18. Prepare material for and take part in After Action Reviews, as required.
  19. Perform and check products consumption and inventory reconciliation for every well.
  20. Participate in operator's pre well meetings e.g. pre-spud, DWOP, technical limit etc.,
  21. Assist with training of new personnel.
  22. Provide a mentoring role to junior personnel.
  23. Perform other duties as may be required from time to time by the project engineer  or Manager including assisting in the company's office if required.
