The position:

A leading global specialty chemicals and performance materials company are looking to hire a Regional Business Development Manager to be based from one of their offices in Aberdeen, UK or Bergen, Norway.

The Regional Business Development Manager will assess new and existing markets for potential new segment development.

Responsible for the European region, with a strong emphasis in the North Sea region.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess potential market size, needs, existing and potential competitive situations, technical feasibility and other critical success factors.
  • Provide a detailed understanding of the business landscape including macroeconomic environment, competition, customers, suppliers and technology.  
  • Develops and assesses business opportunity. Evaluates product against market opportunities and challenges.
  • Develops business cases including strategic rationale, fit and overall business plan and current asset base, financial returns, risk and mitigations, timeline, resources needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of regional / global upstream drilling & completion markets and key people.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to make presentations.  Negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to visualize and follow through on ideas and concepts.  Displays entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to explore new ideas.
  • Adept at organizing and connecting seemingly unrelated ideas.  Analytical skills and ability to understand interdependencies and cause and effect relationships.
  • Follow through; project management and execution skills.  Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Degree in Science or engineering preferred.
  • Significant fluids technology and project management experience.
  • Must be able to travel through Europe / North Sea region when required.
