Basic Function:
The Junior Field Service Engineer (Jr. FSE) is part of the team responsible for the successful installation of Weatherford Reservoir Monitoring Systems. Directly reporting to the Senior Field Engineer or Operations Supervisor, the Jr. FSE is expected to take ownership of tasks as deputed by the Sr. FSE at the well site or in the workshop for upkeep and maintenance of reservoir monitoring equipment before and after a job.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
The Jr. Field Service Engineer (Jr. FSE) is part of the team responsible for the successful installation of Weatherford Reservoir Monitoring Systems.  The installation will be performed directly by the jobholder after being deemed competent for the specific job activities by his Supervisor.  The work performed on/offsite will be under customer supervision to the contracted specification.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
  • The Jr. FSE is responsible for ensuring that they are familiar and confident in performing all "field operations" in advance of being required to perform the actual "field operations".  Any deficiencies identified are to be reported in a timely manner to the RMS Project Manager/Operations Supervisor to ensure all "field operations" are performed successfully to the contracted specification.
  • The Jr. FSE is part of the team responsible for identifying and documenting any Risk Assessment, associated with performing "field operations" in a timely manner ahead or performing the said "field operation".
  • The Jr. FSE is responsible for the Safety, Integrity and Security of all equipment used or delivered for "field operations", they are also responsible for ensuring all equipment is returned and any damages or shortages reported to the Company Rep and PE prior to back-loading and shipment.
  • The Jr. FSE is part of the team responsible for all "field operations" equipment.
  • The Jr. FSE is expected to learn and take the responsibility for specific "field operations" reporting, including daily reports and end of job reporting or as directed by his direct of field supervisor.
  • The Jr. FSE is responsible for Installation and Rental equipment up-keep and maintenance both pre and post job.
  • The Jr. FSE is responsible for Installation Kit inventory and consumables stock up as per Weatherford standard procedures or as guided by his direct supervisor.
  • The Jr. FSE will eventually be responsible and in-charge of the RMS workshop area.
  • The Jr. FSE is responsible for timely update of his Competency level in line with Weatherford standards.

  • Ensure that all necessary measures are taken to eliminate or reduce any actual or potential hazard that may be identified with any work related activity.
  • Ensure that all personnel involved in an installation activity are made aware of any actual or potential hazards associated with the work being undertaken.
  • Ensuring that all accidents, incidents or near misses are reported to the RMS Project Manager / Operations Supervisor at the earliest opportunity.
  • In all cases the RMS Project Manager / Operations Supervisor must be notified of any situation or activity which is considered to be unsafe or potentially unsafe.
 
Required Skills:
Essential:
  • Engineering / Technical practical hands-one experience.
  • Hands on experience with tools and ability to handle engineering equipment.
  • Computer literate in Word and Excel
  • Fluent in English and Arabic will be added advantage.
  • Familiar with Quality Management Systems
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to business change and varying workloads
  • Must be willing to work in the field for majority of his role as part of operations and in the r when not in the field.
  • Must show eagerness towards learning and understanding the Reservoir Monitoring systems and fast tracking into Senior levels by displaying the right competency levels.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision using own initiative to solve problems
Preferred: 
  • Practical experience running downhole monitoring systems - both Quartz and Fiber Optics.
  • Practical experience of rig operations, completion and/or drilling experience
  • Reservoir engineering and/or Well engineering experience
  • Production Optimization / Surface instrumentation experience
  • Good verbal & written Communications skills in English
  • Past experience in Oil & Gas operations in MENA.
  • Ready to work for other product line of Completions.
  • Exposure to gas lift equipment will be added advantage
 
Required Education:
Essential: 
  • Engineering Degree (University or Engineering School) level Engineering or Science
 
Preferred: 
  • Electrical Engineering Degree. Additional training in Reservoir Monitoring / Production Optimization.
 
Required Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years
