Position Description:
Saudi Aramco, long known for its leadership in oil exploration, production, and refining, is seeking experienced professionals to join the growing Unconventional Resources (UR) Exploration efforts.

We have an immediate requirement for experienced Petroleum Engineering System (Pet Engr Sys) Consultants with relevant unconventional expertise. Of primary interest is strong experience in Petroleum Engineering (PE), PE applications, PE data management, applications support and strong knowledge in IT. The incumbent will provide high level day-to-day consultation, support and data management of PE applications. Deliver workflows and application practice services to UR professionals. As a Pet Engr Sys Consultant, and a subject matter expert in PE systems technology, the incumbent shall provide high-level technical and professional consultation, assistance, advice, and guidance in the development and utilization of new and existing computer systems, equipment, techniques, and facilities.

With minimal supervision and broad guidelines provided by the Group Lead or Division Administrator, the incumbent undertakes studies usually involving several computer and PE disciplines that result in recommendations for major system development or modification, potentially at both the hardware and software level. Provide PE application consultation, develop plans, mentor younger professionals, manage IT development projects and furnish expertise regarding the PE application equipment and/or systems within his area of assignment. The work performed impacts all UR professionals and their technical staff that requires daily interaction with computer-based systems.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and or master degree in Petroleum Engineering, Earth Science, Computer Science or a closely related field; M.S. or Ph.D. degree preferred, minimum of 15 years of work experience with at least 10 years of extensive experience directly related PE applications development and support. During this work experience the individual would have demonstrated outstanding performance and would have functioned independently as a high level professional.

The incumbent should have the ability to multitask and prioritize projects. He/she should have:

• Working knowledge of the latest developments in computer science and oil and gas IT technology through formal education, relevant work experience, conferences, seminars and professional journals.

• Experience supporting at least one: Petrel, TechLog, PetroMod, DecisionSpace® Desktop, OpenWorks®, DSS Dynamic Surveillance, EDM, Drillwork, Kingdom; and one other major oil and gas software and workflow.

• Working knowledge of OS (Windows and/or Unix/Linux) and at least one of these two relational databases: Oracle/SQL Server.

• Excellent command of English language (both oral and written); communication skills; analytical skills; presentation skills.

It is highly preferred for the incumbent to have the following:

• Experience with support of micro seismic monitoring software and workflows (e.g., Pinnacle).

• Experience with software and workflows deployed in collaborative real-time oil and gas operations support centers (e.g., InSite Anywhere®, InterACT, Petrolink).
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform PE application support duties, including:

Provide expert advice, guidance and support during analysis and development phases of new systems; ensure that major tactical and strategic objectives identified by UR PE and Drilling customers will be met by the currently planned projects for development, enhancement and new equipment.

Review existing operations to determine consistency with current and anticipated requirements in the UR PE community, formulate revisions to standards and procedures as necessary.

Provide data management and integration solution for Geological, Geophysical, PE and Drilling data.

Develop schedules for major equipment or program installations, upgrades, or conversions; coordinate details with vendors and other in-house support teams.

Analyze applications, workflow or operations problems; propose scope and course of action; make suggestions to UR Management; follow through to a satisfactory conclusion.

Keep informed of trends and developments throughout the G&G and PE&D technology industry; provide background information regarding the suitable application of computer technology.

Provide first level application and workflow support to real-time fracturing and geosteering UR personnel.

Work closely with management and senior staff in UR, Upstream Computer Center and Corporate IT to establish long-term requirements for computer systems and resources and develop comprehensive proposals for management, which address the acquisition of new computer facilities and systems that will satisfy those requirements.

Participate in the activities of technical and professional societies, serve on working committees within such groups, and may attend international conferences.
