Working under the supervision of the Wells Intervention Foreman, the Wells Intervention Lead provides day-to-day task and performance direction to the work crew.

The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off). Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Routinely perform safety and productivity observations, as well as shop, field and vehicle inspections
  • Attend various technical, developmental and safety training
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate support for the company's HSE management system
  • Serve as on-site single point of contact for work crew
  • Supervise and/or direct other craftsmen
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to crew members
  • Ensure all team members understand and follow procedures. Assess skill level of team members and assist in skill development.
  • Examine work and materials for compliance with specifications
  • Accountable for safe work practices
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
  • Ability to operate vehicles including tractor/trailer combination, loader, forklift, book truck, and manlift
  • Able to identify flanges
  • Knowledge of hardline components and uses
  • Knowledge of hydro testing
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures
  • Demonstrated experience with wellhead components, bolt-up procedures, flanges, threaded pipe and fittings, and proper safe use of tools
  • Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions
  • Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate
  • Capable of learning various CH2M, and BP safety and operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies
  • Possess the knowledge, abilities and skills to direct other craftsman
  • Able to supervise work under a QC / QA and DOT program
  • Able to communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate
  • Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to lead a work crew to accomplish goals and objectives established by management
  • Familiarization with work planning and organization
  • Familiarization with Well Reconnects and Disconnects

  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces; sit; squat; kneel; reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures while wearing arctic gear.
  • Lift 40 lbs from floor to knuckles x 2 with a 12 second interval
  • Lift 40 lbs from floor to waist x 2 with a 12 second interval
  • Lift 20 lbs from floor to crown x 2 with a 12 second interval
  • Stairs: Climb up and down 10 steps x 2 for a total of 20 steps, self-paced, but continuous
  • Slanted Ladder: Climb up and down 10 rungs x 2 for a total of 20 rungs, self-paced, but continuous
  • Repetitive Kneel Test: Perform from standing, kneel on one knee, alternate from left to right knee x 5 each knee
  • Repetitive Stoop Test: Perform from standing position, bend forward at waist as far as possible without bending the knees with hands reaching toward the floor x 5, self-paced but continuous
  • Repetitive Squat Test: Perform a functional squat and stand x 5
  • Twist and Flex Test: Perform from standing alternate toe touches x 5 to each side to assess ability to twist and flex the trunk repetitively


The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsement required and ability to be insured by CH2M's auto insurer
  • One (1) year experience with flange identification, triplex pump, bolt-up, or basic rigging procedures
  • Current CDL/DOT medical card
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Three (3) years experience in petrochemical environment
  • Three (3) years experience working in a Wells Intervention environment
  • One (1) year experience with various windows based computer programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point
