The Role: 
The Role: We are looking for an experienced Cost Management professional who is able to produce accurate and robust figures that can be used confidently by clients across a portfolio of projects or a major infrastructure project. 
The primary purpose of this role is to support the planning, development and supervision of all cost elements within projects, ensuring consistent conformance and performance in line with project plans and profiles.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert professional advice covering a wide range of project costs, often working with procurement, contract management, estimating and project controls staff at an experienced / senior level to report, influence and drive success.
• Maintain and develop cost models to ensure accurate reporting of costs on major infrastructure projects.
• Reconcile the annualised cost profile against the target / agreed costs on a given project or funding.
• Work closely with the scheduling team to ensure integration and alignment of cost models and schedules.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Understanding of the cost drivers that define a project and ability to convert engineering data into meaningful cost drivers that staff buy into and see the value in.
• Quantity surveying skills and comprehensive understanding of how projects are run, particularly in the engineering / construction industries or a consulting environment.  
• Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of direct and indirect costs and how to highlight / report upon them.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and specifically the ability to present cost work concisely.
• Ability to interact effectively with colleagues in many different disciplines involved in large, complex programmes with interdependencies.
• Strong quantitative, drafting and presentational skills with an engaging approach that promotes collaboration and co-operation.  
• Likely RICS or working towards another relevant qualification.  
• Experience in engineering, infrastructure or other major project arenas.  We would also welcome applications from other sectors where there may be transferrable skills.  
• Awareness of industry initiatives and policies as well as legislation around this area.
