Role synopsis
The primary purpose of the Junior Reliability Engineer is to act as OMS tag in maintenance and to start up RCA's concerning the technical performance in terms of reliability, availability , maintainability on the operating installations.

Most important tasks and activities
  • Start-up RCA's to develop preventive maintenance plans
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support to ensure delivery of cost effective solutions.
  • Use tools from OPEX programs and participate in OPEX- continuous improvements program Ghent
  • Work closely with colleagues from engineering and operation disciplines, to create a proactive defect elimination mind-set.
  • Ensure that all maintenance service contracts are integrated properly.
  • Provide input in the maintenance related part of the OPEX budget.

Key accountabilities
  • Guard the integrity of all plant assets.
  • Participate in OPEX Gent.
  • Help to develop preventive maintenance, inspection and calibration programs meeting business requirements (availability and reliability, HSSE legislation and regulations, Asset Integrity and Total Cost of Ownership).
  • Transfer new or optimized maintenance plans into Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Provide input for the maintenance related part of the OPEX budget, in cooperation with Engineering and maintenance manager.
  • Assessment of deficiencies in spare-part management, determine (critical) spare parts plan and item catalogue gatekeeping.
  • Provide input to configure the Enterprise Asset Management system (such as asset breakdown structure, preventive maintenance plans, task lists, bill of materials etc.)
  • Key user EAM tool
  • Document technical documentation and drawings (including inspection results)
  • Create an atmosphere such that BP Lubes Plant Gent is "a great place to work with"
  • Bring focus in developing and optimizing of maintenance plans
  • Timely planning, preparation and organization of workshops
  • Structural and accurate documentation of plans, inspection results and modifications
  • Safeguarding maintenance standards and procedures during design review
  • Working according the extensive BP rules
  • Create and manage our systems according to the BP Quality standards
  • Always working according to all internal and external standards about safety and environment


Essential Education
• Engineering degree at Bachelor level (Mechanical or Electrical) • Education in reliability engineering and/or maintenance management

Essential experience and job requirements
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management Systems
• Languages: Dutch (fluent), English (fluent), French (basic)
• Working knowledge of service contracts and spare parts management
• Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications
