Role synopsis
Indirect Procurement (IP) is a part of the Procurement & Supply Chain Management (PSCM) function within BP, with a reporting line into the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

IP has accountability for ~$7 billion pa of third party spend across the BP Group. The IT Sourcing Team within Indirect Procurement is responsible for an overall spend of some $1.6billion pa across 7 sub-categories including Applications Development & Maintenance, Hosting, Software, Hardware, End User Computing, Telecoms and Market Data.

The role of Category Sourcing Lead Telecoms is to execute, in conjunction with IT&S, the approach and execution plan for strategic outsourcing and supplier relationship management for the Telecoms category of IT spend. This work includes assisting in the restructuring, competition, and completion of the annual IT purchase volume for the managed services and participating in the supplier management processes.

• Stakeholder engagement and influencing
• Ownership of commodity groups within the Telecoms category
• Implementation of category management plan
• Managing end to end sourcing process, including supplier management
• Contract and commercial negotiation

Essential Education
• University Degree or equivalent experience
• MCIPS
• ITIL experience would be an advantage

Essential experience and job requirements
• Telecoms and Networks category management experience
• High levels of emotional resilience
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Sourcing planning, execution, negotiation and implementation
• Experience of operating in a Procurement role within a complex and geographically dispersed blue chip environment
• Experience of working cross culturally
