Role description Own the development, management and ongoing tracking of the Digital business cases to ensure that committed in plan benefits are realised. Working the Digital Leadership team and members of the Digital Strategy team, the role holder will be responsible for constructing detailed benefits cases at initiative level, managing a programme level position and quantifying the macro benefits impact of Digital.

You will be responsible for developing and providing detailed financial data with associated analysis and recommendations for the Digital team to support key strategic decision making and programme prioritisation in order to achieve overall benefits targets in delivery of the Digital strategy.

As part of the Digital Strategy team, you will work closely with each of the segment Digital Transformation Managers and the Digital Planning and Controls Manager to ensure that each initiative has robust business cases in place, with onward tracking of benefits to ensure successful delivery of Digital benefits of >£20m Opex annually by 2017.

Responsible for working with stakeholders across all of the segments and functions such as Finance, you will lead discussions in order to gain cross functional agreement on Digital business cases.

You will also be responsible for developing a Finance agreed value of an online customer as well as building and maintaining a catalogue of key Digital commercial metrics to support ongoing business case development such as cost to serve benefit of online customers, attrition benefit and propensity to take other products and services.

Skills and experience Lead on the assessment of the commercial viability of business cases, projects, investments & other commercial opportunities across Digital.

Own the development of cross-segment Digital business case models, influencing stakeholders to ensure appropriate data is available and models are Financially agreed

Collaborate with Digital Transformation Managers, the Digital Planning and Controls Manager, Operational managers and Finance to produce approved business cases

Develop and maintain a catalogue of key Digital commercial metrics to support business case construction and strategic decision making

Work with the Digital Programme team to influence programme prioritisation, ensuring that project requirements will activate the associated benefits

Work with stakeholders across the business to ensure that appropriate MI exists and that benefits of delivered Digital capability are tracked, with realisation of benefits confirmed, with reporting to support Exco updates

Own the overarching Digital benefits position, working with the Digital Leadership team to ensure benefits at a portfolio level are understood, maintaining appropriate information for reporting into Digital Governance Board, ECB and segment Change Boards.

Work with the Digital Optimisation team to translate benefits cases into operational KPIs, ensuring that they are set to levels aligned to benefits delivery

Knowledge and Skills: Degree qualified equivalent

Experience of developing complex commercial models to support business cases

Experience of developing and maintaining complex data sets and financial metrics

Highly numerate, experience of financial planning & KPI reporting and analysis

Excellent reporting, problem solving and analytical skills

Strong influencing skills, able to challenge traditional ways of thinking

Strong relationship building and stakeholder management capabilities

Experience of working with significant Change programmes

Strong presentation skills and experience of influencing at a senior level

Good communication skills (verbal and written) for liaison with business owners and 3rd parties
