Due to an expanding workload, we are looking for experienced, ambitious and motivated traffic engineers to join our Central London team, committed to delivering high quality design solutions. You will become part of a respected and ambitious team, helping to deliver marquee projects in London and across the UK. Recent projects include cutting edge design for the Mini Holland cycle proposals, major gyratory removal schemes for Transport for London and Local Authorities, as well as major schemes for Highways England across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for a wide range of traffic engineering commissions, drawing on proven experience in a relevant area of expertise
  • Act as project manager, or technical lead for projects, ensuring delivery in line with budget, time and quality requirements
  • Provide mentoring and support to less experienced staff with regard to technical skill development and day-to-day overseeing of workload.


Essential
  • A strong technical background with demonstrable experience in highway design of public transport / cycle / pedestrian schemes, or detailed design and implementation
  • Conversant in industry standards - TSRGD, DMRB, Manual for Streets
  • Awareness of core processes for scheme design and project delivery
  • Degree, preferably in a numerical subject
  • Experienced with AutoCAD, MS Office
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
  • Flexibility to manage diverse workload, assist with new business opportunities and pro-actively keep abreast with developments in chosen area of technical interest
  • Ability to work both as part of a sophisticated multi-disciplinary team as well as possessing the ability to work independently to solve problems.
Desirable
  • Experience in Safety Assessments/Audits for traffic related schemes
  • Understanding of traffic modelling - LINSIG/TRANSYT/VISSIM/ARCADY/PICADY
  • Familiarity with key project controls with experience managing small to medium sized commissions
  • Strong sector interest with pro-active approach to keeping up-to-date with technical developments and policy changes
  • Experience working for local authority clients
  • Member of relevant chartered professional institution, preferably Chartered grade though not essential.
