This Airport Paving Inspector will join our growing team in the Phoenix, Arizona office, but will be spending a majority of their time on-site at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Our construction inspection opportunities provide you with the chance to work on exciting and engaging transportation and infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to complete your assigned tasks in a team environment.
Various tasks, responsibilities and contributions to include:
• Perform construction inspection of concrete and asphalt pavement removal and replacement on-site at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
• Qualitative and quantitative analysis of test data and reporting of findings
• Conducting advanced technical research related to assigned projects
• Provide construction inspection of airport paving and other civil elements to support airport infrastructure and to support the Construction Manager to inspect and document the construction contractor activities
• Perform a broad cross-section of technical activities requiring experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA)
• Identify and document construction and/or QC deficiencies (from applicable contract/standard specifications); standards and project contract documents
• Monitors construction activities are in compliance with contract documents; maintaining or preparing a variety of records, including daily progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings; reviewing new projects for constructability
• Prepare monthly progress payment quantities/requests
• Performing and/or evaluating tests and inspections, and other methods of verification as specified
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved Quality Control Plan
• Make recommendations for improvements to standard construction QC provisions as they apply in the field
• Assure compliance with approved submittals

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• High School/GED
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in reading contract plans and specifications
• Ability to demonstrate use of computer and software similar to Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook and Share Point
• 3 years minimum experience with inspection experience in paving and related construction of infrastructure
• Ability to demonstrate experience documenting installation of work and contractor's performance

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
• Ability to demonstrate familiarity with applicable Federal Aviation Administration, State and local specification requirements
• A valid State driver's license
• Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
