Provide environmental scientific support for our rapidly growing environmental planning and permitting group.

The Biologist Staff Scientist career path will give you the opportunity to play a role in all stages of siting and permitting projects in the industrial sector and energy sector. In this junior level position, you will serve as a key team member working with scientists, project managers, and other technical project staff. Working with other members of our team,, you will perform biological field survey, data collections, assist with regulatory documentation development including, Resource Reports, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, survey reports, and environmental permit application and preparing NEPA documents. During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to gain experience in environmental permitting of energy facilities and/or pipelines including: FERC, NEPA (and state equivalents), USACE 10/404 wetland permitting, Clean Water Act, environmental permitting, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention. Additional Information
• This position will include opportunities for both field and office work; it may also involve up to 50% travel within the U.S.
• This position requires strong skills as a self-starter, with an ability to balance work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills are essential.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, or similar environmental discipline.
• 1-2 years' experience in environmental consulting.
• Ability to perform field work in rugged terrain and unfavorable weather.
• Work schedule flexibility to meet periodic deadlines.
• Experience with Microsoft office.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
• Master's degree
• Wetland Delineation Training.
• Experience with conducting wetland delineation, threatened and endangered species habitat surveys, construction compliance monitoring.
• Experience with technical writing of environmental reports and permits.
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment including, the Clean Water Act, Natural Gas Act, NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
• Knowledge of local biological setting.
• Environmental survey GPS experience.
