You will be a part of Control Technologies, Automation Products & System's Sales Department. The business unit is part of ABB's division Process Automation and delivers automation solutions to end customers within the following market segments, Life Science, Food & Beverage, Chemical, Oil & Gas and Data Center. Our department is located in Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg.

Tasks:
ABB is a global supplier of electrical and automation products and solutions to the Data Center market. We see a very strong growth in this segment where ABB can leverage on its reputation and knowledge as a supplier of mission critical equipment. ABB's development in this market has been very strong for the last two years, and we are now preparing for further growth with a focus on the Scandinavian market and in particular the Sweden as a country.

Your task will mainly be to perform a market assessment with key focus on identifying how big the total and available market is for ABB in this region. In order to do that, you need to work closely with various ABB sales channel representatives, some key customers but also most importantly with independent industry institutes.

As a part of your study, you will also identify obvious product gaps that could be relevant as extensions to our existing product offering. We do welcome an open approach to this part of the task.

Finally, we do also want to include a brief summary of the competitive landscape and also the identification of potential new partners in the region. Once again, an open approach is welcome since the landscape of various players are constantly changing.

Requirements:
We are looking for a person(s) who have are finalizing their MSc program with focus on business administration or electrical/automation. It's beneficial if you have an interest to combine your engineering knowledge with sales marketing way of thinking.

General information:

• Period: January 2017 - June 2017 (To be agreed upon)
• Number of credits you want this thesis to respond to (30 ECTS/högskolepoäng(hp) is equivalent to a master thesis, and one semester, 15ECTS/hp is equivalent to a bachelors thesis).
• One or two students
• Will be performed off-site with the possibility to site visits.
