Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice and we have a need for a new Senior Technician to join our team. This position performs a wide variety of duties in the collection and assessment of field information related to the operation and maintenance of water, sewer and stormwater facilities.

This position covers multiple disciplines of work and complexity, and generally works independently on assignments. Responsibilities may include the mapping, inventory and condition assessment of facilities, water distribution system leak detection, field investigations, sampling, data collection, and monitoring of construction activities.

Specific duties may include:

  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format;
  • Uses predetermined methods, sequences and setups to perform data collection,
  • inspections or tests;
  • Collects and prepares data for evaluation and field verification;
  • Observe and inspect ongoing construction work;
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure that work is in compliance with plans and specifications;
  • Investigates damages to buried infrastructure;
  • Prepares reports on investigations performed and findings;


  • Requires at least 10 years of work experience preferably working for a water/sewer utility environment. A minimum of 2 years of technical education is preferred but not required;
  • Ability to read maps and drawings is required;
  • Proficiency in using various types of equipment for testing and the collection and recording of data is required;
  • Ability to read and interpret water and sewer pipeline construction drawings required;
  • Must be computer literate and work with documentation programs and spreadsheets and word processing software;
  • Must understand federal, state and local regulations.
  • Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds is required
  • Ability to work independently and deal effectively with contractors and public.
  • Ability to read and interpret water and sewer pipeline construction drawings with some knowledge of construction including materials, methods, plans and specifications; traffic control; and associated safety requirements preferred.
  • Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions required.
