Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:

The Back Office Analyst is responsible for verifying, confirming, settling and reporting the Company's physical and financial trades.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a portfolio of trading counterparts;
  • Check traders supply accurate deal-sheets/electronic download reports for all trades validated within our 'in-house' trading system;
  • Ensure that accurate trading information is represented within the system by confirming deals with counterparts and brokers on a daily basis;
  • Monitor and verify exchange-traded positions and limits;
  • Reconcile the Company's open trade equity to daily statements from our clearing broker;
  • Monitor and report financial OTC trades to the regulators within 24 hours of their execution;
  • Simulate settlement for physical and financial deals and work with Middle Office to verify pricing and payment terms and create accurate invoices;
  • Reconcile counterpart/pipeline invoices against the system in liaison with the Operations and Middle Office Departments to resolve discrepancies;
  • Invoice counterparts within required timeframe;
  • Agree with counterparts on settlements, and provide timely cash forecast information to the Treasury team;
  • Assist the Accounting team with aged debt reporting and resolution.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business-related major;
  • 1-3 years experience in a similar function;
  • Solid communication skills and customer service mentality;
  • High levels of analytical and information technology skills;
  • Attentive to detail;
  • Strong Excel skills.
