E.ON is a global provider of specialised energy solutions. We are also an important trader in global commodities working hard to make the best deals possible for our worldwide business and ultimately our customers.

We're now looking for a talented individual to manage our contracts with external metering equipment manufacturers driving delivery to time and quality in support of our roll out of smart meters to E.ON customers

You'll manage third party relationships throughout their lifecycle. This will include working with our Procurement, Asset and Logistics, Field Operations and Finance teams, managing relationships and writing contracts.  You'll be expected to pick up projects and take complete ownership of them.

With a remit that includes the creation, negotiation and the on-going management of commercial contracts for the supply of goods to E.ON, you'll be a key part of our smart metering team, ensuring metering equipment is delivered on time and to the quality we require, while ensuring adherence to our procedures and policies. You'll also have responsibility for budgets and business risk processes, making sure we maintain commercial integrity on all matters and contracts within an annual multi million pound spend.

Providing essential mentoring to less experienced members of the team, you'll have every opportunity to utilise the expertise you've gained in your career to date in this challenging role.

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully managing contracts for the supply of significant volumes of a manufactured product ensuring delivery to time and quality.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain considerations including quality management, ideally to automotive or equivalent standards
  • Demonstrable ability to build effective relationships, influence and collaborate with stakeholders, peers and senior management across a large business.
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen
  • Proven ability to make decisions and deliver against tight deadlines amidst conflicting priorities
  • Pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of preparing and maintaining commercial documents, as well as contract law.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to other E.ON sites, third party offices and industry forums on a national basis. 
    Desirable skills
  • The ability to challenge established thinking in order to make positive changes to business processes.
  • Knowledge of the electricity and gas markets, including the regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of smart metering
  • Substantial experience of providing commercial / contractual advice and solutions. Knowledgeable enough to offer expert advice, guidance and coaching.
  • Able to develop and manage effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, often at director level.
  • Previous experience gained in a role with a strong and responsive customer/clients focus.
