Position: Commissioning Gas Turbine Engineer – GT26 Description: Oil Field Solutions provides Engineering and Maintenance Solutions to meet the growing needs of the international oil, gas and energy markets. Our stated ambition is to be the product, services or support provider of choice to a wide range of clients in the national and international energy sector.
DUTIES :
  • It is the responsibility of the Commissioning Engineer to oversee completion of multi-discipline division of work related to pre-commissioning or commissioning on gas turbine projects in an Oil & Gas Operation, Power Generation.
  • Lead the preparation for projects commissioning, including development of and execution of commissioning plans and compliance with certified procedures. Full participation in Risk Assessments and Safety Compliance.
  • Liaise and manage interfaces with respective Operations and Project personnel.
  • Manage construction & commissioning scope execution on a contract basis, to ensure project construction delivery, up to successful mechanical completion, followed by integrated commissioning of entire project scope.
  • The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for supporting and supervision the Commissioning Team on projects. Particular emphasis on Siemens SGT Product Range Gas Turbines.
  • Full compliance with Drawings specifications, pre start-up and start-up procedures.
  • The responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer include the reviewing, approving and overseeing the installation and commissioning of the customer product including relevant gas turbine packages and auxiliary units. This will include liaison with Vendors representatives and Customer management.
  • In addition, the Commissioning Engineer must review and approve all multi-discipline commissioning processes and procedures to ensure they are compliant with the certified processes, specifications and standards of the project.
  • It is the Commissioning Engineer’s responsibility to regularly monitor and report. commissioning progress to Senior Management and relevant parties on progress.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant Regulatory standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all materials, lubricants, spare parts and Safety Devices are in place prior to any start-up of rotating equipment.
  • On site project management in accordance with Company’s Policies.
Requirements
  • 10 years or more in Commissioning Experience in Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Energy with particular emphasis on Gas Turbine. Driven equipment.
  • Must have 5 years or more of relevant power generation, gas compression or Utilities industry experience.
  • Gas Turbine, Generator and Balance of Plant experience.
  • Multi-Disciplined Background in Engineering – Electrical Engineering, PLC and Process Controls and Instrument Engineering, a strong Controls Engineering, Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering would be preferred.
  • Ability to Multi-Task would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Good communicator – effectively communicate at all levels and on complex topics.
  • Knowledge of the decision making process at customer and at Regulatory authorities’ levels.
Leadership experience and exposure to complex project implementation within timeline and within budget
