Commercial Contracts Manager
Preparation of proposals/bids, contract negotiation and compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment.
Provide negotiations preparation and support to Project Managers, Sales, Bid Managers and other functions for large-ticket equipment sales and service agreements Provide review, analyze key issues and assess risk in commercial contracts, develop mitigation strategies Prepare persuasive positions for (and sometimes lead) complex contract negotiations for dispute resolution with customers and suppliers Support the development and implementation of risk management processes and controls working with Project Management leadership Negotiate various contractual positions, including: warranties, delay liabilities, changes in scope, schedule etc. Guide Project Managers through successful project execution strategies in high risk projects Travel estimated at 10%, some international travel likely Consult with the Legal Team as necessary to support contract negotiations and project management, also dispute resolution Teach contracts management skills to the Project Managers and Bid Managers, with on job training and some formal training sessions
Degree with strong academic record - technical, engineering, business a plus Six years of commercial or transactional contract negotiation experience, or equivalent Fluency in English language Knowledge of legal terminology and concepts as used in commercial contracts Good verbal and written communications skills, including presentations to customers and GE team members Ability to influence and persuade Organized and self-motivated for success Demonstrated prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities Ability to provide creative business-oriented advice in a global, multi-cultural and fast-paced environment Experience in working in different cultures and environments Experience with direct customer contact and negotiations - written and verbal/presentation Experience working in a matrix organization with stakeholders in various departments
General understanding of water treatment technologies and customer industries and operations Prior experience in an "expert" role supporting a business team Experience working with large Design-Build contractors (and contracts) is a plus Substantive knowledge of commercial contracts in international business Working knowledge and understanding of products, services and technologies of GE Water a plus
